The classic activity in The Lake District is walking, but there are so many other things you can do, whether you are experienced in the outdoors or want to try it for the first time.
If you are new to walking or want to challenge yourself Hiking High might be able to help you. They offer many different guided walks, especially around Helvellyn and Ullswater. Their ethos is "To empower people from all backgrounds and all abilities to prosper and enjoy the wonderful outdoors", which we very much agree with.
There is a lot to do here. They organise horse riding in the beautiful landscape or a range of activities like reverse steering, archery, and quad bike treks.
The name says it all. A great place to try indoor climbing, either as a first timer or just because it rains.
Get instructions in mountain biking and try the trails in Whinlatter, or if you already are experienced just rent a bike and try it all.
A range of water sports (including paddle boarding and wake surfing) and other lakeside activities are available for the all ages.
If you need help to get started there are qualified coaches available to help.
