All Things Crafts

Location: Rheged and Quirky Workshops in Greystoke
These places have a wide range of workshops such as fused glass, woodworking, animal felting, sewing, painting and calligraphy.
Dalemain Marmalade Festival
Date: Sat, 20 April
Location: Dalemain, near Pooley Bridge
This festival brings together marmalade enthusiasts of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to celebrate all things citrus.
As the organisers say "It is a particularly eccentric day out for anyone with more than a little marmalade fanaticism in their veins."
Keswick Mountain Festival
Date: Fri, 17 May - Sun, 19 May
Location: Keswick
One of the UK’s largest Mountain Festivals which attracts world class athletes, mountaineers and adventurers as well as local legends. It took a break last year and is now back with an even bigger schedule.
Potfest in the Park and Pens
Dates: 25-27 May, 26-28 July, 18-20 October
Location: Hutton-in-the-Forest and Penrith
The flagship event in July is Potfest in the Park with over 100 exhibitors from throughout the UK, Europe and beyond. All with very distinctive, individual styles.
Potfest in the Pens is in Penrith and has more younger, practical potters exhibiting.
Patterdale Boundary Walk
Date: Sat, 7 July
Location: Patterdale
A long standing tradition as both a community and fundraising event for Patterdale school (a very remote small village school).
It's a glorious journey of Patterdale Parish Boundary, with 20 summits and 28 miles - though there are also a 14 miles and 7 miles option.
Chillswim Ullswater End to End
Date: Sat, 13 July
Location: Ullswater
Swim the full length of Ullswater, fully supported.
Other events are happening in Coniston and Windermere.
Patterdale Dog Day
Date: Sat, 24 August
Location: Patterdale Show Field
Patterdale Dog Day is a small, traditional show centred around an open sheep dog trials competition. As well as the dog trial there are many other attractions and shows to keep you entertained throughout the day.
Lakeland Trails, Helvellyn & Ullswater
Date: Sat, 19 Oct - Sun, 20 Oct
Location: Glenridding
Lakeland Trails arrange inspiring trail running events, all held within the spectacular landscape of the Lake District National Park. Trail courses range from 5K, 10K and 14-18K, through to half and full marathon, then up to Ultra marathon distance.
